will load you and your gear for an enjoyable flight to the lodge.
This page provides complete information about our Canadian aircraft
air service. Your Cat Island Lodge - American Plan package - includes round-trip float plane transportation with our own well maintained aircraft from the Excellent Adventure base located in Ear Falls, Ontario. Please schedule you arrival time at our float plane base for between 2 to 4 pm. Departures from Cat Island Lodge are scheduled for 7:30 am We are not responsible for delays beyond our control due to weather or late arrivals. Our Aircraft: Excellent Adventures operates two type of float equipped aircraft on floats. A Beech 18 and Dehavilland DHC-2 commonly known as the "Beaver". Both aircraft are powered by 450 hp Pratt & Whitney R985 radial engines. The Beaver is used for moving the smaller groups of guests and re-supplying the outposts. With a payload of about 1200 lbs. it is licensed to carry a maximum of 6 guests, with groups of 2 to 4 person more common. Our Beech18 carries a payload of 1900 lbs. and is most commonly used for the parties of 4 to 7 guests, with a maximum seating capacity of 8 passengers. Our aircraft are well maintained by 2 of the best maintenance shops in the area and adhere to all Ministry of Transportation regulations. Our Pilots: Excellent Adventures prides itself in having safe, reliable and courteous pilots with loads of flying experience in this area. Owner/pilot Faron Buckler comes from a family that has been involved in the aviation industry for close to 40 years. Flying since old enough to get his license at 17, he's logged close to 15,000 hours of flight time in this northern country. Being involved also in the tourism business for the past 24 years he's well aware of what it takes to make your flight and stay as enjoyable as possible.
